Moonphase One
The Moonphase project began in 2020 when Felipe identified a significant gap in the market for 3D moon phase complications. Inspired by this insight, he set out to create a handcrafted solution, focusing on engineering a fully realized 3D moon phase mechanism. Using traditional handcrafting techniques and manually operated tools, Felipe developed gears and components, embracing a unique production approach rare in the industry.
Our commitment to traditional watchmaking principles is evident in both our meticulous production methods and our design.
Following the success of the first Moonphase timepiece, we are excited to develop two new iterations: one featuring a meteorite dial for the Moonphase One and the Moonphase Two, a new timepiece with innovative features.
The moon phase movement embodies our most complex achievement to date, not merely due to the intricacy of the complication itself but also because of our meticulous handcrafted approach. The base movement undergoes a comprehensive overhaul, with modifications to the main plate to accommodate the complication. Executing these adjustments by hand demands an exceptional level of precision, as even the slightest imperfection could compromise the entire process.
This movement incorporates the most challenging beveling techniques. While crafting interior angles presents a significant challenge, the most demanding aspect lies in the intermediate beveling, which is applied within a single bridge, creating the illusion of two distinct components. The highly skeletonized movement is elegantly finished with sandblasted black rhodium-plated bridges that beautifully contrast with the mirror-polished beveling.
Adding to its sophistication, the hands feature a unique design with half frosted and half polished black rhodium plating, enhancing the overall aesthetic and elegance of the timepiece.

How it started
The moon phase project started back in 2020. At that time, Felipe identified an absence of 3D moon phase complications in the market. Motivated by this observation, Felipe embarked on the endeavor of creating one himself. His aspiration was not only to design a 3D moon phase but also to handcraft it. Employing solely traditional hand-crafting techniques and aided by manually operated tools, Felipe set out to craft gears and components. On a production scale that is a very unusual and rare approach.
Our commitment to preserving the ethos of traditional watchmaking is executed through our production methods and not only by design and finishing.
Following the sell-out success of the first moon phase, we are currently developing two new iterations. These include a variant featuring a meteorite dial for the Moon Phase One, and the Moon Phase 2, a completely new timepiece with exciting innovations.
